A new addition to the Finger Lakes craft beer scene opened its doors last weekend. Lakeside Brewing Company, located on Route 414 on Seneca Lake's eastern shore, is already drawing crowds with its innovative brews and spectacular lake views.
A Farm-to-Glass Philosophy
Owners Sarah and Michael Chen, who relocated from Portland, Oregon, are bringing West Coast brewing innovation to the Finger Lakes while embracing local agriculture.
"We source as many ingredients as possible from Finger Lakes farms," explains Sarah Chen, the head brewer. "Our flagship wheat beer uses grain from a farm just 10 miles away, and we're working with local hop growers to develop unique regional flavors."
The Taproom Experience
The 5,000-square-foot taproom features:
- 12 rotating taps with styles ranging from crisp lagers to bold IPAs
- Outdoor deck seating overlooking Seneca Lake
- Food menu featuring locally-sourced pub fare
- Brewery tours offered Saturdays at 2pm and 4pm
What's on Tap
Current offerings include:
- Seneca Sunset IPA - A hazy New England-style IPA with notes of citrus and tropical fruit
- Lakeside Lager - A crisp, refreshing pilsner perfect for warm days on the water
- Farm Stand Saison - A farmhouse ale brewed with local honey and herbs

The Chens say they're thrilled to be part of the Finger Lakes beverage community. "The collaboration between wineries, breweries, and cideries here is incredible," Michael notes. "We're excited to be part of it."
